“Active supervision” is more than observing and supervising individual and groups of children. Effective supervision will only be achieved when staff are aware of the children and their environment. This will be achieved through the use of various levels of active supervision. This workshops will cover the legislative requirements, principles and strategies through discussions and teamed activities.

This workshop is tailored to your centre. One of our friendly trainers will come in before the workshop to observe and use what was seen for scenarios for a more concrete understanding. It’s important to understand the different types of behaviours children display along with what can cause these and create solutions to a more relaxed routine. During this workshop we have hands on activities to get the participants involved with creating a behaviour management plan.

This workshop is broken down into 3. The first we will give you the tools to ensure that the information you are collecting meaningful and how to analyse the learning that is taking place for the child. The second will give you the tools to ensure that you can plan to extend on learning and put the plans into action to support children's further learning while the final one will cover reflections. Being able to understand what critical reflection is and why critical reflection is the core to everything you do; effectively reflect on your practices individually and as part of a team and can reflect on the principles, practices and learning outcomes and apply this to your daily work.

In early childhood it is important to understand the different indicators and types of abuse. We respectfully cover these areas along with the child protection legislation, united nations convention on rights of the child, what your duty of care responsibilities are and ethical considerations. During this workshop we will educate you in what your role is as a mandatory reporter and how to correctly document information. We discuss recent events within the media along with hands on activities to cater for all learners.

Want to understand what critical reflection is about? This workshop covers this along with why we use critical reflections and its importance to your daily practices. We draw on your current knowledge to explore your abilities and have you feeling confident about using critical reflections that are also pulled from principles, practices and learning outcomes while using the relevant framework/guidelines.

As educators you need to take responsibility for your professionalism and practices.

You need to have a understanding of your professional identity and you need to understand what you are doing. You should be viewing documentation as a part of your curriculum as a tool of your trade. There is no right or wrong way to plan, document and evaluate – we all have different strengths and we are individuals. Throughout this workshop we discuss the connection between the National Quality Framework, theoretical perspectives while breaking the planning cycle down.

Throughout this workshop we cover areas such as what exactly is effective communication, understanding language barriers and conflict resolution, we discuss strategies that you are comfortable with and ways that it all links to the National Quality Framework.

The fact that conflict exists, however, is not necessarily a bad thing, As long as it is resolved effectively, it can lead to personal and professional growth. During this workshop we break down the areas that are common with confrontations and various strategies to overcome these obstacles.

Environmentally sustainable practices should be embedded into the operations of the education and care service and involve educators, children and families in order to be successful.
