Testimonials:

  • "My time as a trainee with The Australian Institute of Early Childhood Studies has been a high light in my career and made my venture from stay at home Mum of 2 to back into the work force at the age of 36 and into childcare one of the best decisions I have made."
(Ruth May - Certificate III graduate and current Diploma student)
  • "The atmosphere at the AIECS is one that other training Institutes simply cannot compare to. The Trainers have supported me every step of the way, and made learning both interactive and fun! Thank you for all you have given me to continue my future education in the University sector and for giving me the tools I need to step out into the education industry."

              (Diploma graduate)

  • "Before becoming a  trainer with the AIECS, I had been in the childcare industry for 10 years. For me, it has gone fairly quickly as I have progressed through many roles. I started out at the bottom from the very beginning as a volunteer student at a long day care centre while doing my certificate 3. From there I got a paid role as an assistant and as I finished studying my certificate 3, I was asked to be a group leader. That then meant I needed to study my diploma and did so. Then I was asked to become an assistant director meaning I had to study my Advanced Diploma. Because I had good mentors who were encouraging at the time, I decided to go ahead and do this. Before I had finished my Advanced Diploma I was asked to become a director and continued to study until I had finished and obtained my advanced diploma while also changing centres and maintaining my role as Director. I completed my Advanced Diploma through the AIECS and had a wonderful trainer who was very supportive. It was because of the college that I then decided to continue studying and do my Certificate 4 in Workplace Training after being in a director role for almost 4 years. I am now proud to say that after completing my Certificate 4, I was then hired by the college to be the trainer that I am today. This is only one of the paths that can be taken in this industry.

(Nicola Smit, AIECS past student and current Trainer Assessor)

  • I became enrolled in the college in 2004 to complete my Diploma, I completed this quite quickly with the help from the trainers and then was offered an Assistant Directors position and enrolled into my Advanced Diploma. At this stage I was rather nervous, but the trainers ensured me they would be their to support and assist me. Leanne came to the Centre once a month and sat with me and went through what I was stuck on, she was happy to repeat it over and over until I understood what she was saying.Sometimes I felt like I would never finish it, but Leanne always said lets take one module at a time and by doing this we reached the end. I was very pround when I graduated and head office and the college staff all congratulated me. 2010 I decided it was time to go back to college to study my trainer/assessor with Leanne as my trainer. I can not thank the college enough for all the support they give, whether it's by e-mail, phone or in person.
